Authentically

What does it mean to be your authentic self? What qualities do you think of when you hear the word authentic?

To me I envision my best self. The confident me that doesn’t care what the world thinks of her. The Maggie who lives solely for herself and does thing for her own pleasure.

Are you hiding from my real self? What could you do if you believed in yourself? What could you be if you lived your authentic self? Would you write that book that’s been laying on your heart? Would you climb the mountain that is your mental health and take charge of your life? Would you say enough is enough?

To be authentic is so show the world the real you without fear. Are you ready to step out of the dark and into the light that is your new life?

Before I took this step I was so critical of myself and my self esteem was in the garbage. I constantly put myself down and refused to do the things that made me happy. I judged myself and others. I told myself I wasn’t good enough. I truly believed I didn’t deserve love of happiness. To be authentic is to love and accept yourself for who you are. To be authentic is to make decisions everyday to shine your light on the world. What beautiful qualities do you have to show? What magic do you have to reveal to yourself?

You have so much to give the world and so much power to claim. You only need to look within yourself for these gifts. I promise if you do your life will change. If you look at yourself with compassion you will find that you are just like everyone else in the world. Just trying their best and putting one foot in front of the other.

My favorite thing about myself is that I can make friends wherever I go. I have a smile that lights up a room and sparky eyes that see inside the soul. I meet people where they are and I love them for being them. When you treat people this way you’ll start to feel better about yourself.

Even though you are one small person you can change someone else’s life dramatically by just being you. What super powers are you holding inside yourself? I encourage you to step into the light and see.

Take care,

Maggie xo
